Live from Las Vegas… in Barcelona, Greg Miller’s “Rockking” production is one of the best Elvis tributes you’ll ever see.
Standing at 6’1 and with crow-black hair, Greg Miller doesn’t have to do an awful lot to bring a sense of The King to the stage. But when he opens his mouth, that’s when the real magic happens. Supported by a live band and a 6-strong team of professional dancers, his pouting lips and gesticulating hips will get you screaming from the first number.
Running through a setlist of twenty classics, including electrifying hits such as Jailhouse Rock and Hound Dog to tear jerking ballads – I must confess I shed a few by the final curtain – like Lover Me Tender and If I Can Dream, you’re sure to be singing along in no time.
But as well as the music, Greg offers a sort of narrative (in Spanish!) of Elvis’s life, enhanced with period-accurate costumes and video footage that adds an additional layer of depth to what is already a judicious and sincere tribute to one of the greatest performers that ever lived.
As Greg says as the curtain falls, “Thank you Elvis.”
And thank you, Greg, for bringing the legend back to life, even if only for a night.
