I’m a local wedding photographers based in Swansea, South Wales and travel all over shooting beautiful weddings. My favourite venues include Fairyhill in Gower, Llantilio House and Duffryn Mawr Country House. But I also enjoy working at new venues and meeting new people.
Also known as reportage or candid photography, I believe that documentary wedding photography is the ultimate way to capture the magic of your big day in way that feels natural and comfortable.
My goal is to document your big day in a relaxed, natural and unforced way. Let me seek out the raw, real, rowdy and romantic moments as they reveal themselves.
The skill of documentary wedding photography is nothing to do with fancy cameras or lenses or filters. No, it’s the humble art of noticing, observing, feeling and connecting. Reacting. All at once, intuitively, without trying. The wedding truly is all in the detail.
That’s not to say I’m not creative or artistically inclined. I am. Very much so. But I see it as my artistic responsibility to focus on capturing as many true-to-life moments as possible, rather than staging things and trying to make your wedding something it isn’t (nor should be).
I’m looking for the tiny little stories that make up the big story YOUR story! The emotions, the people, the energy that can only come about on one day, on the day you come together to celebrate your love and start building on the foundations that you have already laid.
The wedding is in the details.
These are not merely photographs we’re talking about, these are markings in concrete, carvings in great oaks. The ephemeral moments, the “and here we are moments”. The perfectly imperfect “let’s be together forever and always” moments.
But what about groups shots?
Yes of course, we will definitely make time for group shots too of course. This may be the first and last time this exact combination of your friends and family will be in the same place at the same time. And that’s a beautiful thing. Plus, of course, we’ll also be sure you get to steal a few moments away with your new Mr or Mrs, to snap a few special “we just got married” portraits.
