There’s no menu at this iconic market stall bar, but the dickie-bowed owner Juanito Bayen will make sure you get exactly what you need.

Those who venture into the heart of La Boqueria market merely to snap photos and buy fruit smoothies are missing out in a big way.
As with many traditional Spanish markets, La Boqueria boasts a spectacular array of tapas bars and though offering bar-seating room only, they have rich pickings when it comes to sourcing raw materials. Pinotxo is one of the most iconic bars in the market – and, indeed, in Barcelona – and offers a seriously tempting selection of dishes that change with the seasons to capitalise on the freshest produce.
Juanito, the magnanimous host, will do everything possible to ensure your visit is a memorable one. And though there is no menu, per se, you can trust that when he asks whether you want “meat of fish?”, you will be presented with a feast to remember for a lifetime.
If you already have lunch plans you can still pop in for a cafe con leche and a croissant at breakfast time and revel in the ruckus of the market springing to life.
