British-Australian couple Poppy and Zim have created the perfect setting for indulging in hearty all-day brunches, beautiful burgers and sensational home-brewed beers. And the coffee… oh boy. Barcelona never had it so good!
Inside it’s a bright and contemporary space where solopreneurs huddle around communal tables with everlasting cups of “third wave” coffees (beans sourced from local coffee legends at Nomad).
Groups of international bon vivants and local creative types pop in for sophisticated brunch dishes like hazelnut and chocolate French toast, and house-cured pulled ham hock with poached eggs and brown butter hollandaise.
Everything is made in-house, from their gorgeous Galactic Pale Ale to their fluffy brioche burger buns and pink lemonade.
Try the Nashville fried chicken sandwich with jalapeño slaw and hand-cut fries or the now-famous double cheese burger with smoked bacon and home-made pickles. Vegetarians are also well catered for with the roast pumpkin and goat’s cheese salad.
Verdict
If you’re looking for a serious brunch, lunch or dinner in Barcelona but don’t fancy (more) tapas, or even if you just need a chilled out spot for meeting friends and sipping on good coffee and/or craft beer, Caravelle is a sure fire winner.
