I turned 37 recently. A strange limbo sort of age, neither old nor young.
So much has changed, but so much remains the same. I’ve let go of a lot of things.
Mainly I just realise how lucky I am to live the simple life I do, to be free and healthy (even if my body feels more like 67 most of the time).
Anyhow, it was a nice, quiet birthday. My first and hopefully last in lockdown.
My mum put on a delicious spread of nibbles galore, made me my favourite cake. We drank too much – wine and beer and gin and god knows what.
I took some blurry drunken photos that will probably mean little to anyone but me, but I thought I’d share them anyway…
Spring seems to be on its way. Vaccines are happening – my mum’s is next week.
Suddenly the future seems a lot brighter.
It’s nice to start dreaming again, making plans of all the things we’ll see and do.
