Luxury living for less. This contemporary 3-star hotel is located just outside Barcelona’s city centre. Ultra modern and comfortable rooms combined with a glitzy rooftop bar and pool provide outstanding value for money. One of the best budget hotels in Barcelona.

B Hotel is located on the border of the trendy Eixample (left side) neighbourhood and the more low-key Sants neighbourhood (where I currently live).
It’s also within walking distance of Sant Antoni and Poblesec, where you’ll find tapas bars galore and many of the Adrià brothers’ Michelin-starred marvels.
Barcelona city centre is walkable or just a few stops on the metro.
The Vibe
Modern, bright and cool, B Hotel is housed behind a honeycombed façade. Progressive design features continue throughout, with intelligent light fittings that make the entire building glow like a spaceship. Very cool.
It’s perfect for couples who want a little luxury and romance without spending a fortune, and as it’s close to the Fira de Barcelona conference centre it’s also a good choice for business travellers.
Lounge music echoes quietly throughout the ground floor lobby and bar area, where comfy sofas and cosy nooks invite you to slow down, switch off and relax.
The Service and Facilities
The staff are attentive and welcoming, offering efficient service at every turn, although they tend to leave you to it once you’ve checked in, in a good way.
The quality of the facilities is way beyond what you’d expect from a three-star hotel in Barcelona.
The rooftop terrace provides breathtaking views over Montjuic and features a seriously sexy swimming pool and fully-stocked bar. Luxury living all the way.
This is a prime spot for sunset cocktails.
It might be a 3-star hotel, but this is luxury 5-star living all the way.
The B-Passion package is ideal for those seeking a romantic getaway and there are excellent facilities for business travellers.
On-site parking is available for €23 (£20) per day, but you really don’t need a car in Barcelona, especially if you’re staying somewhere like this.
The Rooms
The 84 rooms are pristinely clean and feature comfortable furnishings like sofas, armchairs and desks.
Floor-to-ceiling windows provide plenty of natural light and inspiring views over Plaça d’Espanya.
Soundproofing ensures peace and quiet – another plus point for couples (wink wink).
Contemporary art, automated mood lighting and a “pillow menu” (basically a selection of fancy pillows) add to the overall feeling of style and comfort.
Bathrooms are modern and feature large walk-in showers.
The Superior Double and Deluxe Double rooms offer even more space, better views and bigger beds.
Room service and in-room massages will tempt you to enjoy a night in.
The Food & Drink
There isn’t a restaurant, although the ground floor B-Bar and rooftop bar offer a good selection of tapas and bigger dishes, such as the B-Burger and salmon wrap.
The tapas include traditional platters of Iberian ham and assorted Spanish cheeses and there’s a decent selection of Spanish wines.
I enjoyed a decent salad and some chicken skewers with a bottle of red from the Torres bodegas – simple, but good.
But, really, there are tons of restaurants within walking distance, so the lack of a “serious” restaurant really isn’t a drawback.
The breakfast buffet (€15/£13) is served on a sunny mezzanine and includes everything from fruit and freshly baked pastries to sliced meats, cheese and hot dishes.
A bottle of Cava is kept on ice for those who want to celebrate their first morning in Barcelona in style.
A lovely place to start the day.
The Verdict
This is unquestionably one of the best budget 3-star hotels in Barcelona.
Double rooms are available from around €80 (£70) in low season and €125 (£109) in high season, which represents excellent value for money.
It might not be located right in the centre of the city, but it’s literally footsteps away from the the metro so you can pop into town in less than 20 minutes. And, besides, there’s loads to do around the hotel.
I will be recommending this hotel to my friends and family when they come to Barcelona.
Great review, thank you. I booked here yesterday for a forthcoming break.
Muy fantastico, thanks for your comments Samantha! Have a great trip!
