What are the best beaches in Europe?

Cala Mariolu, Sardinia

Sardinia is one of the most beautiful locations in Europe and Cala Mariolu epitomises the splendour of the island. This secluded beach offers travellers turquoise waters, soft white sand and dramatic limestone cliffs.

The beach is only accessible by boat or on foot as it’s protected land but once you arrive, you’ll have a beach experience you’ll never forget.

Reynisfjara Beach, Iceland

Europe has plenty of unique beaches and Reynisfjara is one of them. This won’t be your typical beach getaway when you visit Iceland as it’ll be a bit chillier than you may be used to.

This beach is known for its unique basalt rock formations that create a sight like no other and the black sand makes for a fascinating stroll along the shores.

Praia da Marinha, Algarve

The Algarve is one of Portugal’s most visited regions with around 8.5 million overnight guests in the first half of 2023. Praia da Marinha is without doubt one of the must-visit places whenever you visit.

This stunning beach boasts golden sand, crystal-clear waters and hidden coves waiting to be explored. Go for a dip in the sea or relax on the beach with a refreshing beverage for an incredible day out with your fellow travellers.

 Zlatni Rat Beach, Bol, Croatia

Croatia’s tourism grows every year and this beach is high on people’s lists of things to do here. It’s known as the Golden Horn or Golden Cape and has a distinctive point that stretches out into the Adriatic Sea.

You’ll find fine pebble stones and calm waters to swim in. Plus, water sports enthusiasts can give windsurfing a go thanks to the reliable winds.
